The U3A is an organisation for people who are retired or semi-retired. It offers you the opportunity to learn at leisure, find new interests and make new friends.
There are over 750 U3A's throughout the UK and this one - Ilkley & District - has around 800 members. We are a self-help group that relies on its members to make things happen. We don't pay anyone to lead groups or administer the organisation. It costs £13.50 a year to join the U3A and then you share in any costs incurred by the interest groups you join - such as room hire or trips.
In Ilkley we have about 70 interest groups ranging from theatre studies to travel to croquet. You can take a look at these by clicking on the "Our Groups" menu above.
Many groups re-start in early Autumn but depending on the group you might be able to join at any time of the year.
